Does anyone else have a 365 project they're starting? Let me know...it helps to have someone else to keep you going! Oh--let me clarify my 'doesn't have to be a picture' rule...I want to post some quotes and things I find that I've messed around with in photoshop. So, it may not be an actual photograph, but it's close, since it will most like have hit my digital darkroom. Since I work 12 hour shifts, it translates to about 14 hours away from home/family when all is said and done. That doesn't leave a whole ton of time in my day. That's why I am leaving this little out, here... (Hey! It's my project, right?) haha!

Oh--my tootie pie little sister Ivy has started a bloggerooie! She's so cute..check her out here!

All right....(rubbing hands)....it's that big moment! The moment BEFORE the moment! My last official day of 'freedom' from my self-imposed slavery for the next year.

Here are some of my most favorite 365 projects for you to peruse:

Pete Ark has an awesome 365 project he did a few years back. If I could only make this project half as cool as his I will be in heaven. Check it out! In fact, I entered this contest (I think that's what it was) called Pick a Pete, where we took one of our favorite shots from the series and tried to do the same thing (or something like that, it's been a while!) Anyway, here is his shot and here is my version. Good times...

Rosie Hardy is one of those photoshop masters, and does some very stellar self-portraits. I love her series. (everything's probably not for the littlest eyes, fyi) You can find it here! One of my favorites is this shot.

Let me know what you think! I'll see you tomorrow with Day 1/365!

a manifesto.

i can use that word, right?  manifesto?  according to wiki, a manifesto is a public declaration of principles and intentions.  i have to make this one public, or i just might not follow through on it.  so here you go....

you never get the moment back.

i know this well.  it's been the driving force behind my foray into the photography world.

people who know me well would probably say that I'm crazy for taking something like this on in this time of our lives.
i'm busy.
we're busy.

i agree.  i think i'm a little nutso.  i also know that i am doing a pretty lousy job of documenting our lives right now--because I'm busy.  i feel like this last year has slipped by with few pictures and almost no words to describe it.  i had a hard time finding the pictures for our Christmas card collage.  that's pretty crazy, considering how many shots i've taken these past few years.

i've thought about this a lot, and decided that this is the best format for me to keep track of it, and for the entire family to have access to the info (rather than a book or album that only one person can have).

i've set up a few rules for myself, because i can, and i know things might get a little hard.  i'm writing them here so I can stay accountable.  my goals:  get it down, document it, and throw in some things i want my kids to know.  my rules:
